Efficient Solar Panel Design from Green Sun
A new design in solar panels is being developed in Jerusalem by a company called Green Sun. It comes in a multitude of shapes, forms and even colors, but this is not the best part. Green Sun has said that these solar panels will cost less than $1 per watt to manufacture and will operate at 20% efficiency.
Another benefit is the temperature reduction. Most standard type solar cells degrade in efficiency if the solar cells get really hot. Unlike conventional solare panels, the solar panels from Green Sun only utilize visible and ultraviolet light and don’t concentrate heat.
These solar panels capture light and direct it to the edges, which contain the silicon cells that convert light into electricity. This design also allows the solar panels to produce electricity even if sunlight isn’t falling directly on the solar panels, such as during cloudy days.
