Now there is a cool and functional way to keep the sun out of your windows and charge your cell phone at the same time. The Some Shine Solar Energy Storage System, designed by Ming-Ching Hsueh is an innovative product for doing just that. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a link anywhere to buy it or a price…hopefully someone can comment on it, if they find it.
The solar shade is made of thin film technology, which uses other compounds, not silicon. It is not quite as efficient as silicon, but can be made to fit flexible surfaces, which provides a lot of applications.
